MC Aftercare intentionally collects zero protected health information (PHI) — and that is by design.

Our platform is a task management, document organization, and family support tool. Families use it to track administrative tasks (notifying the DMV, closing bank accounts, filing for benefits), store personal documents they choose to upload, and access grief resources. None of this involves medical records, clinical data, diagnoses, treatment history, or any information covered under HIPAA.

We collect only what is necessary to operate the portal: the family member's name, email address, and the name of their loved one. That's it. We do not want, request, or store any medical or clinical information — and our platform has no fields or functionality for it.

This means there is no HIPAA compliance burden on your funeral home. You are not transmitting PHI to us, and we are not acting as a Business Associate under HIPAA. The portal is simply a private, secure aftercare support tool — nothing more.
